Radiation
One dead and more still in the hospital. All of them were exposed to radiation in Delhi's Mayapuri scrap market. After an initial clean up, the government declared the area to be safe.[1]
But just days ago, a Greenpeace survey exposed this to be untrue. The investigation discovered radiation levels were 5,000 times normal in two hotspots near one of the scrap shops. The risk is to people working in the immediate vicinity of the hotspot.[2]
We'll make sure the authorities come back to do a proper clean-up and ensure the safety of the people in Mayapuri. But we'll also have to double our efforts to stop the nuclear liability bill—which would spread the hazard of nuclear risk while allowing companies to get away with a pittance as liability.
Can you help expand our ongoing campaign against the nuclear risk by contributing today?

More nuclear reactors will only bring in more hazardous radioactive waste. The current policy for safety standards and the proposed dubious nuclear liability bill will only worsen the condition.
The bill in its current form has to be dropped to ensure the highest standards of safety are maintained.
Support the effort to stop the disastrous liability bill. Click here to contribute:
