How Can Students Manage Money Better?

The year 2008 saw the global meltdown after 1929, great depression as some opines. The crises triggered off by sub-prime loans and default in repayments by borrowers. Rest is the story that we know. In the global scenario it was the biggest economical doldrums, followed by several individual and institutional bankruptcies, layoffs, unemployment and of course plunging into deep recession. Obviously this economic crisis cast its shadow all over the society. So the student community is not isolated. They too are bearing the burnt. Failure to repay the student loans or difficulty to get the fresh loan to continue further education is the common story with them.

In fact students those who have taken private loans are in trouble now. In US, the students can get two types of student loans. One, the Federal government provides through their direct loan program and the other loan provided by private lenders where government gives guarantee. Sallie Mae the cousin of Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae, is the most prominent private lender, lends the student loans through Federal Family Education Program (FFEL). Significantly this private loan accounts for much larger chunk of student loan in comparison to Federal government direct student loan. In 2007 the amount of private loans was $52 billion as against $12 billion of direct loans. Unlike federal loans the private loan has much higher rate of interest and offers no protection to the borrowers when they go through financial crunches or hard times. Unemployment, disability or even death brings no relief to the borrowers but in case of federal loan, the repayment can be deferred and it can be adjusted in accordance to the borrower's repayment capacity. Whereas private loans offer only forbearances for limited time while charging fees and the entire loan amount with accrued interest is repayable on resumption. This relief understandably results in piling up of loan amount. This is the case with the students who took student loans from private lenders under Federal Family Education Program (FFEL).
The Federal government bailout program to rescue the financial institutions should ensure that the benefits reach to students as well. Federal student loans should be made available adequately. No less than 168 private lenders of student loan under FFEL program have dropped out since global meltdown in 2008. More and more universities, colleges are considering switching over to direct loans from private lenders due to scarcity, cost reduction and shortening of wait time. Now it is matter of time to see how Obama government responds!
Students generally have an inclination to have easy time during their college and university days with borrowed funds. By the time they leave college or University, they carry a five figure loan amount over their head. This trend requires a change. There are many ways to avoid the loan trap if one is really interested. First of all seeking scholarship or aids, doing part time jobs for at least 15 to 20 hours per week and during summer vacation doing full time job may meet their expenses during college or University days to much extent. More they work, less they spend for pleasure, so that way, it is "money saved money earned" and going for bargain shopping for everything is other recourse.

Book Review - a Thomas Jefferson Education

Anyone can pass their time reading books. Any book, better you say any light book. I also had a plan to finish the book in my holidays in Disneyland. But for me it was not a very light book to read. Well my vacations ended at Disneyland but could not read the book, so at last I took some time off from my busy schedule and finished reading it off. It was an amazing experience; it left me with many things to think about.

This book really has given me some ideas about teaching my children. Now I know, what I am supposed to teach my children at home, so that they can learn to think properly. Demille did a nice job in this book. It is explained nicely in the book, how every type of classics help children to think. I spent a good time reading the book, and gained a lot of knowledge from it. “The Curriculum Debate “clarified many things to me. And at last I confirmed myself that I am clear with these points. The classics perform a good job modeling our behavior; I came to know this from the book. And classics also provide us good reasoning ability, so that we can learn things quickly by reasoning them in our own way.

There was a nice categorization of books depending on types and also defined them very well. It is very helpful as one can figure out which type of book is suitable for him or her.

The best part of the book is about the parents to learn to behave in front our children, so that they can learn how to behave. And most importantly we should also read classics and understand them, so that our children can do the same or at least try to read and understand. But, I think we can hardly make ourselves ready to do this.

I have seen all the LDS home schooling boards are referencing to Thomas Jefferson education. DeMille has pointed out the need and utility of referring to such education in all types of education. And it is even needed in public schools. Even he has discussed how a child studding in a Public school can get such education that can help him to think.

This book also talks about spiritual learning, how it could be applied to secular learning, which should not be a surprise. The main fact is, a student himself or herself is responsible for studies. A student who is thinking that whatever he is studying is not so important will never be able to understand the subject matter.

This book really gave me a confidence that I can mind on my own home schooling. I am interested to read it again. And next time I will note down few things I find as most important and I will try to send my feedback to the writer. I enjoyed the book a lot and the methods it tells about and would highly recommend buying it.

Assessing the Men’s Lasting Prospect While Dating

Women are very likely to commit one mistake. They indulge into wishful thinking and ends up with a wrong date. A man, who is matured for dating he is emotionally sharp, intelligent and obtainable for relationship, must have these certain features. These are musts and not optional.

See there is no excuse for the guy for his follies because he is (i)  weary, (ii) been upset, (iii) recently divorced,( iv) awful endearing, (v) extremely sexy or whatever may be.

When you find the start is bad for the riding, be sure it will get worse. It is rather an early warning and do not ignore that. Being vigilant for the early warning saves you from any future traumatic experiences.

Gathering huge insipid experiences will only turn you sour. No one needs it. Mind you bad experience gets followed by bad experiences only. So, be careful; look for better experiences!

Some points are given here to be watchful:

1. Immature about the sex.

This is very personal with anyone. But when you find the man does not have any regard for your wishes; he is neither fit nor seeking any relationship. If he seems only interested about sex; take it as he truly is.  Look at the event the way he is looking at about the relationship. Do not give much weight to such involvement.

2. Watching the other girls in your presence.

This is very bad manner of the man if he does so. It is out of the etiquette when one is dating. In fact it shows the man does not have little control over himself. What is a must for having a stable relationship!

3. He attaches no importance to the date.

When he takes you for the first date then he should ask you for the next. It is better, if he does so then and there or on the very next day. He should express that your company is enjoyable to him. After all it is hard to suppress when he really feels so. Well it may be in the form of a text or phone message on the very next day.  In case if you find that it is not forth coming, take it granted that he has little or no interest. When he calls you up much latter then do think that he has nothing better to do with his spare time.  You must look for his true interest or enthusiasm.

4. You never do that.

When you enjoyed his company, you feel the urge to inform him. Some time it may be irresistible!  But do not do that. Let him do the hunt. If he sends you text message or calls, take little time to response. This works better, after all men enjoy the thrills of uncertainties when he is looking for a relationship. Why not to give them that?

5. over adulation on your looks.

It sounds truly magical when one says that you are gracious, lovely or symbol of sex. But that should not be repeated over and over again by the same guy. Once or at the most twice one utters; that is his true appreciation. But when he repeats the same, he knows that this works with his past experience. He should keep changing the topics like ideas, popular movies, and the scenic beauty of the place or places he visited. In fact the subjects of common interest should be explored by him.  In case he compliments some your qualities like your opinion on something or your views on some of the happenings around, they are acceptable. He must let you know that he knows that you are not your body.  If you find him he does consider only your body, better say good bye to the person.

6. He should have good communication skills.

You must check that your guy has reasonable communication skills and a sense of humor. Without them marriage turns out to be jejune or boring. Better his conversation skill better the companionship you have! He should not give you lecture rather he should take the cue from your conversation and continue. If he talks about himself and keep expressing his views only, this show his egoistic attitude and lack of socialization.  Watch out how he delivers his dialogues while facing odds; like car breakdown or being served wrong menu et el during dating.

7. He who talks about his traumas, ex or how his heart was broken.

Those who are out to talk about their heart breaking stories on date are usually not dependable. It shows their hesitant attitude towards seeking stable relationship. They are just looking out for one who pays an ear to them and offer sympathy. When you find he does not talk about anything other than his past stories of heart break; shun him. He is unavailable for any relationship and he is likely to be self interested person.

8. He is concerned about one single function “brain”.

I think you know what it means. Always look for the man who is seeking your mental and emotional attachments for relation; not only your physical attachment!

9. He is over agreeable.

This is very confusing. Watch out, he should not be a “yes man” for your every opinion or proposal.  In that case, he is only interested in your relationship till you go to bed with him.  The man must be confident and has his own opinions. This applies to most of the tings even fixing your next date.  In case you find lack of initiative from his side for planning or fixing the date, then doubt on his steadiness.  This is very true when he is just out of his previous marriage or relationship.  He is yet to gather his strength to stand and seek relationship.

These are the guidelines which may be immense helpful for the initial couple of days of dating.

Labcenter Proteus Design Suite VSM 7.4 Professional

Proteus Virtual System Modelling (VSM) combines mixed mode SPICE circuit simulation, animated components and microprocessor models to facilitate co-simulation of complete microcontroller based designs. For the first time ever, it is possible to develop and test such designs before a physical prototype is constructed.
This is possible because you can interact with the design using on screen indicators such as LED and LCD displays and actuators such as switches and buttons. The simulation takes place in real time (or near enough to it): a 1GMHz Pentium III can simulate a basic 8051 system clocking at over 12MHz. Proteus VSM also provides extensive debugging facilities including breakpoints, single stepping and variable display for both assembly code and high level language source.

At the heart of Proteus VSM is ProSPICE. This is an established product that combines uses a SPICE3f5 analogue simulator kernel with a fast event-driven digital simulator to provide seamless mixed-mode simulation. The use of a SPICE kernel lets you utilise any of the numerous manufacturer- supplied SPICE models now available and around 6000 of these are included with the package.

Proteus VSM includes a number of virtual instruments including an Oscilloscope, Logic Analyser, Function Generator, Pattern Generator, Counter Timer and Virtual Terminal as well as simple voltmeters and ammeters. In addition, we provide dedicated Master/Slave/ Monitor mode protocol analysers for SPI and I2C - simply wire them onto the serial lines and monitor or interact with the data live during simulation. A truly invaluable (and inexpensive! ) way to get your communication software right prior to hardware prototyping.

Should you wish to take detailed measurements on graphs, or perform other analysis types such as frequency, distortion, noise or sweep analyses of analogue circuits, you can purchase the Advanced Simulation Option. Once Wi-Fi defense is installed it scans your network and presents to you a list of devices (computers) and ask you if they are Friend, Foe, or Unknown. It gives you their IP address, MAC address, Net Name, and manufacturer. From that information you can figure out if they are Friend or Foe to allow them on the network. If Unknown you certainly don t want them. If someone need tries to piggy-back onto your signal a pop-up window will alert you and ask you if they are Friend, Foe, or Unknown. It worked on both my 802.11g and b cards. If you find in the future you want to change the classification of visitor (you were mistaken, or they just ticked you off) you can edit the visitor or delete them from the list.
Clicking on Wireless Security gives you options for Notification, that will have it tell you when someone new is scanned on the network. The Security tab lets you enable router security. Wi-Fi Defense is truly just a scanning programwhich will tell you when someone is accessing your network, until you enable the router security. I change my setting for my main computerWi-Fi defense options menu from friend to foe. It only change the color setting but, did not kick it off. If you are using a wireless access point in conjunction with a router (two separate pieces of equipment), make sure you put the address of your access point into the Access Point Address field on the Network tab. Once security is enabled if you need to add new visitors (friends) then you can click on Add Friend To Network wizard.

You can run reports on visitors to see when they came on and how long they were there. Network report shows the MAC address, when they were first there and the amount of time on the network. Visitors will be listed in one of two groups, either Connected or Not Connected. The Vulnerability Report shows a chart of how many hours each day a foe was detected on your network in the time period you select.

Girls get more options when they are out to buy toys, as girls love to play with boy’s toys. But generally boys do not like to play with those girls toys. Boys do not like to play with girls toys. Just for example, he-man has more female fans than male fans. See this character “He-Man” is consisting of two words “He” and “Man”…a complete male character, still having a huge female fan base. But there are more girls who love Barbie than those girls who love “He Man”. But then He Man female fan base will definitely defeat the She Ra fan base. She Ra is He Mans sister. Now say if you find a boy playing with Barbie you will definitely take a second look on him.

A Review of the Farouk CHI Flat Iron-is It any Good?

The all new Tunturi E80 exercise bike is really cool. It has got all new look along with body parts which includes its every single nuts and bolts. And its electronic wizardry really sets it apart from other bikes available in the same range.

When you cycle riding on it, you will get it quite and smooth. The flywheel system used in it gives you a feeling on being at a real bike. You will get it easy to step onto it as they have used a step through frame, just to give the rider an ease to step up. It is real fun and also adds more attraction to the bike. You will definitely try a new route every day.

The console provides you plenty of programs from which you can choose. Every time you can select a different difficulty level for a same program. So you can use it for as long as you wish. Tunturi provides you software. The software lets you connect through the internet and download new programs. Another thing that you will get is a USB memory stick of 512 MB storage capacity so that you can transfer the data as needed. It has cardiovascular programs, fat burn programs fitness improvement programs. You can also get a polar chip that you can use with a chest strap that will be better than hand grips.

Paths Of Glory by Jeffrey Archer

We have a confession to make. When we first heard that Jeffrey Archer’s new novel “Paths Of Glory” was going to be a non-fictional, biographic work on the life of George Mallory, we were like “Hmmm, non-fiction? Biography? Let’s wait and see.”

We are happy to announce that our misgivings were misplaced and the wait has been worth it.

“Paths Of Glory” has Archer at the top of his form and writing arguably one of the best books of his career.

First, the plot and it is no secret as such.

Search for George Mallory on the web and you can get to read massive stuff on him.

Mallory was a British mountaineer who led 3 teams to climb the summit of Mount Everest in the 1920s. On his third expedition in 1924, he and fellow climber Andrew Irvine disappeared for ever, just a few hundred metres from the summit. Mallory’s body was found 75 years later in 1999 and whether he managed to reach the summit of Everest before he died has since remained a subject of speculation.

History of course records Edmund Hillary and sherpa Tenzing Norgay as the first people to set foot on the summit of Mount Everest, 29,002 ft above sea level, the highest point on earth, in 1953. It is also reported that when Hillary and Norgay reached the top, they actually spent time looking for some evidence of Mallory.

Archer takes the life of George Mallory, weaves in some artistic license and the result is pure magic.

Not once do you get the feeling that this is a biography or a non-fictional piece of work. On the contrary, Archer writes with such assurance as he builds the life of Mallory from his childhood, his early interest in climbing, the people who helped him, his friends and fellow climbers, his wife Ruth and their children and finally the various assaults on Everest that unless you knew Mallory was a real person, you would feel this is top class fiction.

As for the ending – we are avoiding spoilers here – the speculation on whether Mallory ever reached Everest provides the grist to the final climactic scenes on base camp, over 27,000 feet above sea level.

Terrific is the word we would use to describe this outstanding tale of loyalty and courage.

Read it for one of the best of Jeffrey Archer.

Read it for George Mallory and feel for him as he makes his attempts to reach the highest point on earth.

The PDF Password Remover is a useful and reliable software which can be used to decrypt protected Adobe Acrobat PDF files, which have "owner" password set, preventing the file from editing (changing), printing, selecting text and graphics.
